The Royal Fortune Black Bart Roberts had a habit of naming all of his flagships the Royal Fortune. This particular ship was a 42-gun French warships that he captured in 1722, hanging the French governor from the yardarm and taking the vessel as his flagship. This ship was one of the largest and most powerful pirate of the time, but Black bart soon discovered that his prize had a rotten hull, so he abandoned her for a new flagship captured off the coast of west Africa Tell A Friend
