The Queen Anne's Revenge Blackbeard was given the Queen Anne's Revenge in 1717 and converted her into the most powerful ship in american waters. She measured about 100 feet from stern to stern and could carry a crew of upto 300 heavily-armed pirates. Althought she was originally designed to carry 20 guns, Blackbourn increased the number to 40. when she was of no more use to him, he ran her agfound and escaped in a smaller, faster ship with all her treasure.
